An unofficial engine or source port that runs the original game data in VR. Standalone builds install on the headset rather than running through SteamVR.
Standalone headset installation. This build runs on Quest / Pico, not through SteamVR on your PC. A PC may still be needed to sideload the APK and copy legally owned game files.

Setup notes
Install the APK through SideQuest, then copy the required files from a legally owned PC copy of Return to Castle Wolfenstein. The game runs on the headset; the PC is used only for installation and file transfer.
Compatibility note: community reports in May/June 2026 describe menus becoming black or invisible after a Meta headset update, including RTCWQuest. This is an update-detected compatibility incident rather than proof that every headset is broken; check the project/community workaround before reinstalling or downgrading.
