A mod added to the existing PC game to enable VR. A dedicated VR mod built for this one game. These are normally the best experiences, because controls, menus and comfort were designed for VR rather than injected.

Separate project
GTAVR is a separate DeployAbi project from the unavailable 5VR repository. No maintainer statement confirms a successor relationship, so this listing does not treat GTAVR as a 5VR update.
Requirements and limits
Requires GTA V Legacy build 1.0.3889.0 exactly, Windows 10/11 x64, and an OpenXR runtime (OpenVR also works). Disable BattlEye and use Story Mode only; GTA Online is blocked by design. VR engages about a minute after the game world loads. The current v0.11.19-ffb-test candidate is a prerelease, and its exact hardware acceptance is unverified.
Security notice
The creator's 22 September 2026 scan summary reports clean local/GitHub Microsoft Defender and ClamAV results, but 9 VirusTotal detections for the same executable, including a Microsoft Wacatac verdict.
