DS2PCVR v0.1.8
for Dead Space™ 2 · by chortdev · released 25 Oct 2026
A mod added to the existing PC game to enable VR. A dedicated VR mod built for this one game. These are normally the best experiences, because controls, menus and comfort were designed for VR rather than injected.

Community research
This is a broad first-person motion-control conversion with recent public builds and multiple direct player reports; current unresolved zero-G, settings, store and refresh-rate issues make it experimental.
Evidence checked: Creator README and v0.1.8 release notes plus current open issues #5–#9 reviewed on 2026-10-27. Issue reports include an Alienware i9/RTX 4070 setup and Quest 3/RTX 5080.
Known limitations
- Current 0.1.8 has same-day player reports of zero-G launch failure, settings save failure, store items firing/buying unexpectedly, and melee breaking above 60 Hz.
- Creator documents low frame rates around 40–50 FPS even on strong PCs, due to CPU stereo rendering.
- EA app and Steam require different release archives; a wrong archive leaves VR disabled.
